Animal Island is a location in Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands.
This island is located on the northwestern most side of the archipelago. It can be raised by using 10 Sun Stones. This island's main purpose is to be able to ask the wild animals who live here for help in gathering additional items. One Sun Stone can be found by examining the watering hole.
Animal Help[]
Various wild animals live on the island and can be used to gather items for the player. Each animal group have unique items that they will gather for the player. Animals must be befriended first by placing food inside the small feeding area on the island. When your friendship level with a certain group of animals reaches a high enough level, they will then become available to help.
Cherry the red Harvest Sprite stays on the island and can be spoken to in order to ask animals for assistance. If no animals can be hired after placing food in the feeding area, they do not have a high enough friendship level. When animals can be hired, they will need to be fed each day that you want to ask them for help. Animals will only work for one day at a time.
Speak to Cherry to have an animal to gather items for that day, then return to Cherry the next day to collect the items. The more friendship a group of animals has, the better chance they have of returning with rarer and better quality items.
