First Meeting[]
General Dialogue[]
- Leaving for Rose Square: "In the afternoon, all the wives in town gather at the Plaza to gossip about this and that. I truly look forward to catching up with everyone. Basil on the other hand... He only talks about plants. *sigh*"
- At Rose Square: "She what? Oh, my... What a pity. No, I..."
- "Have you heard about Lillia's husband? He went to find a desert flower -- one that only blooms once every ten years -- in order to cure what ails Lillia. Honestly, I'm a little jealous Lillia has such a devoted husband, but she's been very lonely without him. Perhaps I shouldn't have told him about that flower..."
- "What should I do when I get home? Even if Basil ends up being around, he'll no doubt be focused on work. What a bore."
- At Supermarket: "Today's my weekly shopping day. I always look forward to seeing what the General Store has in stock. Pots are an absolute necessity for cooking, so I recommend buying one."
- At Supermarket: "Sasha's husband always seems so exhausted, yet Sasha herself is completely unflappable. I imagine it's hard work running a business. And I certainly do NOT have a tab here. I simply forgot my wallet on occasion."
- "My husband is always sneaking off to the Inn for evening libations. Bit of a freewheeling sort of man, isn't he?"
- At Mother's Hill: "Mother's Hill is full of things to find. I honestly do have a good time up here. Maybe I'll make jam again."
Gifts[]
- "Thank you! I'm absolutely delighted. You make gift-giving an art form."
- "Oh, this.. Erm.. Well, to be blunt, I'm not fond of this at all. Oh, you didn't know? Goodness, did I not tell you? Well, no wonder, then. It's all right. You didn't know better."
- "Hm? Are you quite sure? Usually, it's only my family that celebrates my birthday. Thank you."
Heart Lines[]
- "Hello, Naomi. Have you had a chance to read any of Basil's books? The Library is positively overflowing with texts he's written. Market trends favor town guides over specialized books like Basil's botanical encyclopedias. That fact gives him no smallamount of grief. His books may be helpful to you, though, so give them a read."
"Oh, [Player]! A long-lost memory just came back to me. Once, when we went to the mountain, Basil was so absorbed in looking at flowers that he fell off a cliff. Isn't that simply hysterical?"
- "Marie's a little bookworm, so she gets on swimmingly with her father. I wish she'd talk to me a little more, though. Mama needs some love too. What sorts of crops do you harvest from your field, [Player]? I'd love to try home-grown produce sometime."
- "You know, I may complain about having nothing to do, but living a laid-back country life was always my dream. Basil's books are on the technical side, so they aren't exactly at the top of everyone's shopping list. For the sake of our family's livelihood, I wish he'd write something more palatable, but I can't convince him to."
Festivals[]
Harvest Festival
- Days before the Harvest Festival: "The Harvest Festival gets closer by the day! Hm?am I looking forward to it? Of course! Why wouldn't I be?"
- Day before the Harvest Festival: "I can't wait to see the cornucopia of ingredients everyone's going to bring to the Harvest Festival... Hopefully we can make something tasty."
- "It'll be nice not having to cook for a change. And tonight we'll make our own hot pot with whatever's left over at home."
- "That was absolutely delicious. Oh my... There isn't any left."
- "What in the world? Just want kind of flavor IS this?"
Fluffy Festival
- "I just adore Angora rabbits. I'm secretly hoping I'll get to see one at this year's Fluffy Festival..."
- Before judging (you enter): "You've entered an animal from your farm too, right, [Player]? I hope you win."
- "I just love animals. They all look so gentle."
- "Just looking at such fluffy animals has a calming effect on the soul."
- You win: "Congratulations. I bet I could knit a great sweater with some of the trimmings from your animal."
Year End
- End of year: "A new beginning may be on its way, but I'm only feeling older... Such is life, I suppose!"
