In Harvest Moon DS: Grand Bazaar, the work the player does during the bazaar is split into two categories; the profit earned and the reputation they gain. The player will be given a reward by Felix during daytime or after bazaar results if they score high in either, or both, categories.
When a customer wants to ask the player a question, a speech bubble containing a face with open mouth will appear above them. The player must answer questions by customers to increase their reputation, which will increase or decrease depending on which answer is selected. If the conversation is ignored, the customer will leave angrily.[1]
Reputation Points[]
The reputation here is based on a point system. You'll start with 0 reputation points at the start of every bazaar. The choice you make one week won't affect the choice you make another week.
When a question is asked, you'll be given three choices to respond with. Each choice will be worth either -5 rep ("went down"), -10 rep ("went down a lot"), +5 rep ("went up"), or +10 rep ("went up a lot"). You'll pick an appropriate choice, the customer will give you feedback on your choice, and you will receive a notice on how much your reputation has changed. The points will accumulate until the bazaar ends at 7:00 pm.
You may receive the same question more than once per bazaar. You'll earn reputation for each question asked, whether it is a duplicate or not. The next day at the bazaar results, Felix will say whose stand had the highest reputation. To be the best you need to earn 60 or more reputation points during the previous day's bazaar.[2]
