The cakes we bake at the Garden Grill are all from recipes Grandpa created himself. Brad follows those recipes exactly, too. They're so soft and moist and sweet and delicious and... <drool> And I really need to stop eating them so much.

Collecting lamps is a hobby of mine. When you light the wick in an antique lamp, they look almost magical. Miranda over in the general store will sometimes special order them, just for me.

Taste testing? Why would I do that, silly? If I follow the recipe exactly, there's no need to, right? Besides, my hubby's always so happy to try my cooking, he's kind of like my own personal taste tester! I just love cooking for him!

Making a dish by the book is fun and all, but sometimes I get sudden inspirations.
When my muse strikes, I'll mix together all kinds of ingredients and spices that look like they'd go well together. I'll have you know I've been cooking just as long Brad. I know all about eyeballing measurements and what goes with what. Would you like to try my cooking sometime? I'll tell you what, the next time I make something, I'll bring it up to your farm.

Brad and Grandpa usually take turns cooking meals at our house. The other day I thought I'd give them a break and cook for them instead, but they both insisted I should sit and relax. In the end, they both cooked for me. Wasn't that sweet of them?

Grandpa's such a sweet old man, I love him to bits. He's been living with us for years now and we've never gotten into a single argument. But sometimes he's a little too kind for his own good, and some people take advantage of that. There are some real rotten folks out there...

These days Grandpa leaves the restaurant almost entirely to Brad. He usually leaves around noon to go fishing in the river. But we have a handful of regulars who still insist they love his cooking too much to forget it. So just for a little in the morning, he'll cook up some dishes just for them. I'm sure he's flattered they enjoy his cooking so much.

I love my hubby dearly, but sometimes he can be a little...impulsive. He also has a strong sense of fairness, don't get me wrong...But, well... A couple years ago two friends were arguing, so he stepped in to break them up...right in time to get hit by both their punches.
Granted, that DID stop the fight, but I was worried for his poor face that night. It makes for a funny story now, though.

Me and my hubby have been friends since we were little. We were neighbors, so we were always playing together.
At first I thought he was a clumsy boy, but as I got older that just made him seem all the sweeter to me. I told myself that he needed me there to take care of him.

Brad told Grandpa that he'd take over the family restaurant because he didn't want it closing down when Grandpa retired. I'm sure he thinks he was dragging me along with his selfish wish to keep the restaurant, but I'm glad I came here.
The folks here in Westown are just wonderful, and I love working at the restaurant. But most of all, I'm just happy to be with Brad.

The other day, one of our lady customers came up to Brad and gave him a love letter. He tried to say no, but before he could the lady asked him if he could deliver the letter to Wayne for her. Which makes sense, since Wayne and Brad are good friends. But I was a liiiittle annoyed that he didn't seem unhappy to get that letter.

Miranda's such a lovely woman. She's so cheerful and outgoing. Not only that, we're close to the same age! We were instant friends. I get to see her whenever I go over to her store on errands. Every time we get to talking, and I always jabber way longer than I should.

Did you know Miranda used to be a soprano singer? Every once in a while she'll come by the restaurant to sing. Her voice is so beautiful that everyone who hears it can't help but stop what they're doing and listen.

Noel looks so much like her ma, it's almost as if she's a mini-Miranda. Oh, and speaking of Noel, did you know she calls Wayne her "prince"? I can almost see the hearts and sparkles in her eyes when she looks at him, too. But it's so obvious that Noel's true prince is little Colin. He's such a precocious boy. They make an adorable pair!

I just love fashion and clothing! Whenever I find an outfit that's especially cute, I can't help but splurge on it. Why, just the other day I custom ordered a new outfit from my favorite designer. I can't wait until it's finished!

Ford is such a serious and businesslike fella. You'd think he'd be difficult to approach, but he's surprisingly quite popular with the ladies. Unlike Wayne, though, he's entirely oblivious to the fact. For as learned as he is, I guess he doesn't know much about romance, huh?

It's amazing what a likeable fella Wayne is. Not only is he great friends with Brad, his good looks and friendliness have all the gals in town swooning over him, too.
