There are four different kinds of animals in Harvest Moon GBC 3 - divided between livestock and pets.
Livestock require food and affection to live and will produce something in return. All livestock are purchased at the Farmers' Union and the player may have 8 of each kind. Meanwhile, pets require no care and the player starts with the only pet they'll ever get.
