Charlie (チャーリー, Chārī^?) is a villager in Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands.

He is the son of Chen, and shares the same business sense as his father. He hopes to one day surpass his father, and to become a better merchant then him. Charlie works with Chen inside his store during business hours. Unlike his father, however, he does leave the store during certain periods of the day. He is usually always found playing with Eliza.

He and Eliza can be found at the beach on Verdure Island, the dock on Sprout Island, or inside of Eliza's house early on Friday mornings when Chen's shop is closed.

Charlie helps the player by turning Wonderful Chips into Wonderful Stones, making accessories, and by attaching wonderfuls to your tools.

Charlie and Eliza are standing together on the bridge when Charlie asks her if she likes him. Eliza thinks for a moment and tells him he's "okay" but Charlie was hoping for a more serious answer. He asks Eliza if she is his girlfriend.

Eliza tells him that he's not, because her boyfriend is going to be rich and famous! Charlie is disappointed so Eliza issues a challenge; if he can make her wish come true, then she'll be his girlfriend. Charlie will do anything to complete her request. Eliza tells him that her wish is to become a princess!

Charlie thinks that's an impossible wish, but Eliza argues that he said that he would do anything! Doesn't his store have a potion that can make her into a princess? Eliza is mad that he would break his promise to fulfill her wish and storms off.

Trivia

• If you have 7 hearts with Charlie, he will give you a present if you speak to him on your birthday. There are three different presents available, depending on the year. He will give you either Soybean Rice Candy (Year 1), Dry Curry (Year 2) or a Chocolate Banana (Year 3). These gifts will continue in a set rotation every three years.
  • If he gives you Dry Curry, you can gift it back to him for a major boost of affection (or save it for his birthday in your refrigerator for even more heart points).
