Chelsea (チェルシー Cherushī?) is the female protagonist in Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands. She also is an eligible bachelorette if player chooses to play as the male protagonist.
Chelsea is an aspiring rancher and has moved to learn more about ranching. She will live in Carol's Inn on Sprout Island once she moves in.
Chelsea is knowledgeable about farming and ranching, but will look to you for further advice. She's always got room for improvement, and always has a cheerful and optimistic attitude. She may be one of the last villagers to arrive, as unlocking her requires raising all of the islands and unlocking all of the main villagers.
She has no rival and will accept every type of gift.

Gifts[]
Chelsea will accept every gift that is given to her, which even includes junk. All gifts will earn 300 Friendship Points, and talking to her will earn you 100 additional points. To earn a bonus 100 friendship points each day, Chelsea can be shown any pet or wild animal.
Heart Events[]
Purple Heart Event
Enter the diner on a sunny or cloudy day between 12pm and 3pm, or alternatively, on a rainy Friday between 3pm and 6pm. Chelsea must have a purple heart color minimum.
Chelsea is eating and asks if you'd like to come over and join her. Agree to join her and Chelsea will be happy she has some company. Food tastes better when eaten with others and thanks you.
Blue Heart Event
Enter Chen's shop on a rainy day from 3pm to 6pm on any day except for Friday. Chelsea must at a blue heart color or higher, and her purple heart event must have already been seen.
Chelsea is looking at all of Chen's different wares. She thinks its fun to see all the different things that are for sale. Chen takes this is a compliment, as he is proud of the quality of wares that he chooses. Chelsea thinks it must be fun to run a store and might want to try it herself one day!
If you agree that it seems like fun, Chen will offer to let Chelsea run the store for a day. Chelsea declines, saying that she still wants to focus on becoming a rancher first.
Green Heart Event
Enter the Inn between 6am to 9am or between 6pm to 10pm when Chelsea at a green heart color or higher. Both previous heart events must have been viewed previously.
Chelsea invites you to sit and have a cup of tea with her. Chelsea is happy that you've become a friend to her, since everybody was a stranger when she first arrived. Chelsea is used to traveling a lot and says that the island has become her favorite place!
Encourage Chelsea to stay on the islands. Chelsea would love to stay here, especially since you're here with her! Chelsea thanks you for your friendship.
Yellow Heart Event
Chelsea's last event will take place automatically as you enter your farmhouse between 10am and 5pm on any sunny day, as long as she has a yellow heart minimum and all previous heart events have been watched.
Chelsea knocks on your door and asks if you'd like to go for a walk with her today. If you agree, Chelsea will take you to Meadow Island.
Chelsea thinks that the meadow is very special, since it can be both lively during festivals and also peaceful when it's empty. Chelsea thinks the two of you have a lot in common. She tells you that she dreams of having a successful ranch that everybody loves one day, just like yours! You encourage Chelsea and she feels a boost of confidence that you really believe that she could do it. She asks you to tell you more about yourself and your ranch.
This event will automatically end at 6pm and you will be brought back inside your farmhouse.
Proposal
It is possible to propose marriage using the Blue Feather once certain conditions have been met. You must have the Husband/Wife bed inside your house, and watched all heart events with your chosen marriage candidate, with them having a red heart. Additionally, Mystic Islands must be raised and the Goddess must be spoken to once by throwing a gift into her spring.
The Blue Feather can be purchased from Chen's shop once any marriage candidate reaches an orange heart color. If all conditions have been met, the feather will be accepted.
Wedding
Your wedding will be set for a week after the proposal. The date will be pushed forward a day if the wedding day falls on a festival day, or the weather will be typhoon/blizzard.
You will automatically wake up on the day of your wedding and go to the church for the ceremony. The wedding lasts the entire day and you will be unable to do any of your daily farm work either before or after the ceremony. After the wedding, you will wake up the following day back at the farmhouse with your new spouse. They will ask you what you wish to be called now that you're married.
Trivia[]
- If you have 7 hearts with Chelsea, she will give you a present if you speak to her on your birthday. There are three different presents available, depending on the year. She will give you either a Fall Sun (Year 1), a Spring Sun (Year 2) or Gold Lumber (Year 3). These gifts will continue in a set rotation every three years.[2]
