Cliff (ハリフ, Harifu^?) is a character in Harvest Moon: DS and Harvest Moon DS: Cute. He is one of the eligible bachelors to court in Cute.

Cliff is unlocked after connecting DS and Cute to Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town and Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town via GBA connection. He comes for a visit from Mineral Town.

Cliff is a quiet and shy person who rarely speaks when he comes to visit. He comes to the valley on Saturdays, and can be found in at the Inn in the morning. In the afternoon, he can usually be found near the waterfall area.

Cliff only comes to the valley once a week, so it will take longer to court him than one of the local bachelors. He will also appear in DS as a regular villager. Unlike in DS, if you choose to marry a marriage candidate from Mineral Town, the game will continue.

Black Heart Event

Walk into the kitchen at the Inner Inn between 8am and 1pm on a Saturday.

As you walk into the kitchen, you will see Cliff. He wasn't expecting to see you and asks what you wanted. If you offer to chat with him, Cliff offers to tell you what's on his mind. He asks if you ever feel lonely, since you live on the farm all by yourself. If you tell Cliff that you do feel lonely sometimes, he is relieved that he isn't the only one who feels that way too.

Cliff thanks you for allowing him to talk about what was on his mind.

Purple Heart Event

Walk in to the Inner Inn between 11:40am and 4pm on a Saturday when it's raining. Cliff must have a purple heart and the first heart event must have already been watched.

Muffy and Cliff are talking in the lobby as you enter. Muffy sees you and calls you over. She says that she hasn't been able to get much of a conversation out of Cliff at all and has given up. She hopes that you have better luck and leaves.

Cliff tells you that he's really embaressed, but he just didn't know how to respond to all of Muffy's questioning! He feels ashamed that Muffy made an effort to talk and he couldn't think of much to say. Cliff asks you if you think he's pitiful. Tell him that he shouldn't worry and Cliff will thank you. He vows to get over his shyness and also says that he will apologize to Muffy.

Blue Heart Event

Leave your farmhouse between 6am and 12pm on a sunny Saturday while Cliff is at a blue heart or higher to see this event. The first two events must have been previously watched.

Cliff has come by this morning to ask you for a favor. He really wants to get to know the people in the valley better, but he's still too shy to go alone! Cliff asks if you'd accompany him door-to-door. If you agree to go, Cliff thanks you and the two of you leave.

You stop at the Villa first. As Cliff is admiring the fountain outside, Lumina and Sebastian arrive home. They invite you inside for a proper visit, but Cliff politely declines. He decides that he wants to see more people in the valley now and moves on to the next place.

Kassey and Patrick are next on the visitor list. Patrick notices Cliff's shyness and assures him that everybody in the valley is like family, so he doesn't need to worry. Patrick comments that the two of you look like a nice couple out on a date! Cliff becomes flustered by this and decides it's time to leave. He thanks the twins and you return to your farmhouse.

Cliff doesn't want to keep you from you work, even though there were more houses he would have liked to visit. He knows he wouldn't have been able to go out today if it wasn't for your support. He even admits that it did feel like a date! He thanks you and leaves.

Yellow Heart Event

Exit the Sprite's tree between 10am and 6pm on a sunny Saturday. Cliff must have a yellow heart or higher and all earlier events must have already been watched.

As you exit the Sprit tree, you'll see Cliff. He was just on his way to the spring and asks if you'd keep him company. The two of you talk and Cliff is happy to listen to your stories. Cliff has really grown to appreciate his friendship with you, but is worried you might move away one day. You're his only friend in the valley, so he asks if you'd please stay and continue to be his friend.

If you tell Cliff that you'll be staying in the valley, he feels relieved! He would hate to lose somebody so special to him. Cliff thanks you for talking with him today and lets you get back to your work.
