Bug Catching is an activity in Harvest Moon 3DS: A New Beginning.
You are able to catch bugs and frogs while exploring the outdoor areas of the village. Critters can be sold or given as gifts. Each time a new critter is caught, they will be added to your critter list in the farming notebook. There are nine types of critters you can catch and a combined total of 96 different creatures in all. Some critters sell for more money than others, depending on their rarity.
You are able to catch bugs with your hands and do not require a net. Catching bugs in A New Beginning is very similar to the mechanics used to catch bugs in Tale of Two Towns.
