Dale (ダイ Dai?) is a character in Harvest Moon: Animal Parade.

Dale's role in the game is to upgrade your home. He owns Cornet Carpentry, and lives in the Garmon Mine District. He is the master carpenter, and teaches his apprentices Luke and Bo the skills of the trade.[1] Luke is also his son. Dale has a dog named Chief that he is very fond of.

To upgrade your home, bring Dale the appropriate amount of stone material and lumber.[2] Talk to him behind the counter of his store to order the upgrade that you want. His store also sells furniture for your home, and offers remodelling of the design of your home.[3]

Dale is always behind the cash register at Cornet Carpentry when the store is open. On Thursdays, when the store is closed, he can sometimes be found in the Garmon Mines District outside of the store. After hours, Dale will sometimes go to the Brass Bar to unwind in the evening.

Spoiler warning: The following may contain important story spoilers.

When you are on the search to meet the Harvest Goddess for the first time, you will be unable to enter her spring. Walking down the path to the Harvest Goddess' Spring, you will be stopped by a group of wild animals. You will be unable to pass until you tame the animals. Finn will tell you to find somebody who is good with animals, so we can find a way to tame the wild animals.

If you remember, Dale has a pet. A large shaggy dog named Chief. If you go to speak to Dale, he will teach you how to tame animals, and give you the Animal Whistle. The Animal Whistle is an important item in the game, but it also allows you to meet the Harvest Goddess.[5]

He will also give you the key to the gate of Fugue Forest during your search for the Green Bell. You will unlock Luke, and will be able to visit the Witch.

End Spoilers: It's safe now!
