Elliot (エリク, Eriku^? lit. Eric) is bachelor in Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands.

Elliot can be described as meek, shy, and gentle. His younger sister Natalie often makes him the victim of pranks and bullying, leaving Elliot with low self esteem. He does however, have a kind demeanor, and tries his best to conquer his fears and work hard.

He is incredibly modest, even on the rare occasion that his work is noticed. When he makes a mistake, he's often scolded by his grandfather and sister. He helps his family with their shipping business, and lives at Taro's house with the rest of his family. Elliot has a large heart despite his flaws, and will open up once befriended.

Heart Events

Purple Heart Event

Enter Taro's house between 6am and 8am or 8pm and 10pm on a clear day, or alternatively, on a rainy day between either 6am and 8am or 12pm and 10pm. Elliot must have a purple heart color minimum.

You startle Elliot when you arrive. He was caught up in the cleaning and didn't notice you come in! Elliot confesses that he made a mistake yesterday and the cleaning is his punishment. He's a bit embarrassed, but hopes to move forward and be more careful in the future.

Offer to help Elliot clean to cheer him up. He feels as if he should be cleaning by himself, but admits that he could really use the help. He thinks its very kind of you to offer and thanks you for the help.

Enter Sprout Island via Verdure Island on a clear day from 1pm to 4pm. Elliot must have a blue heart color and the first heart event must have already been watched.

Rival Events

1st Rival Event

Walk to Verdure Island from Ranch Island on a sunny day between 1pm and 8pm. It must be Year 2 or later.

Felicia, Julia and Elliot are leaving the animal shop. Julia thanks Felicia for her help today before Felicia walks home. Julia thanks Elliot for lifting so much today and says that he stronger than he looks! Elliot quickly becomes embarrassed, but Julia insists that she meant it as a compliment. She hopes Elliot will be able to help her again in the future and heads home to rest.

2nd Rival Event

This event requires either Elliot or Julia to be at a green heart color or less. Alternatively, the event can be seen at any affection level if the player is married. It must be Year 3 or later and you must own a cat. It can be seen on a sunny or cloudy day between 1pm and 4pm by walking from Verdure Island to Sprout Island.

Elliot bumps into Julia who is excited about a cat that she's found. The cat is very friendly, so Julia believes that it isn't a stray. Elliot suggests that the cat lives nearby and Julia wants to try and help find its home. She asks Elliot if he will go with her, which he is happy to do. The two go together in search of the cat's home.

Rival Proposal

In Year 4 or later after watching the previous two events, this final event can be seen if Julia or Elliot have less than an orange heart color. Alternatively, the event can be viewed at any affection level if the player is married. Walk from Ranch Island to Verdure Island between 8pm and 10pm on a sunny or cloudy day to see it.

Elliot has walked Julia home and they are about to say good night to each other. As Julia is about to go inside, Elliot stops her by abruptly asking her to marry him! Julia is both surprised and embarrassed. Elliot apologizes, but tells Julia that he really needed to get it off his chest. Julia insists that he must stop apologizing so much. She accepts his proposal by saying that she will be by his side to help him with his bad apologizing habit.

Rival Wedding

Rival weddings take place a week after the proposal event. The wedding date will be pushed forward a day if the wedding day lands on a festival day, a typhoon, or a blizzard.

On the morning of a rival wedding, the bride (if playing as Chelsea) or groom (if playing as Mark) will come over to invite you to the wedding. You will go to the church for the ceremony. The wedding lasts the entire day and you will be unable to do any of your daily farm work either before or after the ceremony. After the wedding is over, you will be brought back to the farmhouse the following day.

After marriage, Julia moves in with Elliot and his family.

Trivia

• If you have 7 hearts with Elliot, he will give you a present if you speak to him on your birthday. There are three different presents available, depending on the year. He will give you either Vegetable Juice (Year 1), Chop Suey (Year 2) or Stir-Fried Veggies (Year 3). These gifts will continue in a set rotation every three years.
  • If he gives you Stir-Fry Veggies, you can gift it back to him for a major boost of affection (or save it for his birthday in your refrigerator for even more heart points).
