The Equestrian Challenge occurs every season on Day 23, and is a competition where you must race against three other villagers in order to reach the finish line the quickest. In order to unlock this festival, you must have completed Lenctenbury's storyline and completed Tori's quest to revive the festival.
Once the day begins, to get the contest started, go to the Providence town square and talk to Tori anytime before 6pm. She will have the player pick which class they wish to participate in and one of their mounts to ride. In the race, the player must run through all the checkpoints and reach the goal before anyone else. Along the way their will be carrots and flowers scattered around the path that can make the player run faster for a short period of time.
If you win the contest in a certain class, the next class will unlock. The prizes you can earn for each class and the approximate time to beat to win are detailed in the below table.
