The farm (牧場, bokujou) is a location in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns.

Mailbox[]

You will sometimes receive notices about new products and services, as well as personal letters from friends and loved ones in the mailbox in front of your house. Your mailbox can only hold so many letters. Be sure to check it often. Also, certain special letters can be viewed from your bookshelf.

Shipping Bin[]

You can earn money by shipping your crops and byproducts to one of the three towns. Place items in the shipping bin on your farm and a town resident will collect them around 17:00. You will receive payment the next morning. If bad weather prevents items from being collected, they will be collected the next day. Open the Shipping Menu to change the town your items are shipped to. Be aware that items will only be shipped to the town that's specified. Check the Shipping Bin in order to change the town to which you ship your items. The current day's shipping location cannot be changed. When you want to ship to a different town, be sure to make the changes the day before.

Clothesline[]

The clothesline in front of your house indicates the size of your family. You'll see one shirt hanging from the line when you're single, two shirts once you're married, and three shirts after you've had your only child.

Fun Time Work Bench[]

After Ludus explains farm circles on Spring 16, you will have access to the Fun Time Work Bench where you can place and move farm circles on the farm.

Main Farm Area[]

You can only place barns, fields, and farm circles in the grid areas available. Your farm house, shipping box, watering source, and Fun Time Work Bench cannot be moved. Your main farm area has two places where you can place farm circles, one by your farm house and one south of the shipping box.

West Farm Area[]

After completing Farming Tips #1, the west farm area unlocks. Besides farmland, there is a river with a dock where you can fish.

East Farm Area[]

After completing Farming Tips #2, you'll gain access to the south of your main farm area and east of the west farm area. There are two sections of farmland in this area. Growing crops in the higher or lower area won't impact their growth rate.

Cellar[]

After completing Farming Tips #3, the underground cellar unlocks. You can reach this place by going through a cellar door that appears in the northeast area of your main farm area. The underground is made up of three individual areas with 42 crop field spaces in each one. You can't place paddies or add farm circles to these areas. The underground acts like a greenhouse, allowing you to grow crops in a protected area. You can grow out-of-season crops in your cellar. By placing a spring sun, summer sun, fall sun, or winter sun on the Sun Altar, you can raise crops of that season.

Barn[]

Your barns can house four-legged animals such as cows, sheep, and angora rabbits. Inside barns, you'll find the feeding area, fodder dispenser, animal notebook, and maternity area.

  • Feeding Area: Feed your animals by placing fodder in this area.
  • Animal Notebook: Use this to keep track of your animals' health, stress, affection, and more.
  • Fodder Dispenser: You can take out fodder stored in your silo from here.
  • Maternity Area: A space for your expectant animals. It's found only in large barns.

Coop[]

Your coops can house winged animals such as chickens, silkies, and quails. Inside coops, you'll find the feeding area, animal notebook, and incubator.

  • Feeding Area: Feed your animals by placing chicken feed in this area.
  • Animal Notebook: Use this to keep track of your animals' health, stress, affection, and more.
  • Incubator: It's found only in large coops.

Stable[]

The stable next to the farmhouse has a fodder dispenser for your horse.

Silo[]

You can store fodder for your livestock in a silo. Stored fodder can be taken out from the fodder dispensers inside of barns and coops. Silos will become available at Relacion during the course of the game. Before you have a silo, you should keep fodder in your bag or storage box and carry it to the feeding areas.

Liquid Fertilizer Tank[]

Lets you make liquid fertilizer by mixing fertilizer with other ingredients. Not only does it allow you to make liquid fertilizer, but you can store up to three different kinds of liquid fertilizer in it.

Pet House[]

With a pet house on your farm, you can keep animals such as cats and dogs as pets. Each pet house can hold only one pet. If you need more, visit the jack of all trades to have him build another one. Once you have a pet, you can press the A Button in front of your pet house to bring up the following options: Take a Walk, Bring into the House, and Check Animal Notebook. Also, by pressing the X Button, you can ask your pet to help you

  • Take a Walk: Choose this to take your pet for a walk. See the Pet Care tutorial for more details.
  • Bring into the House: You can have your pet spend the night in your house instead of in its pet house.
  • Check Animal Notebook: Check on the health and status of your pet.

Mushroom Log[]

To grow mushrooms, you must have a mushroom log on your farm. It can be purchased from Relacion. Mushrooms can be grown in all seasons, and don't require watering. Once the mushroom is full size, stand in front of it and press the A Button to harvest it. One mushroom spore will yield a harvest three times. Once all three mushrooms have been harvested, you will need to plant spores again. To remove mushroom spores before all three mushrooms have grown, use a sickle to return the mushroom log to an unplanted state.

Fish Hatchery[]

With a fish hatchery on your farm, you can cultivate fish and pearls. Catch the fish you want to raise and put them in your hatchery. Fish in the hatchery will increase in number after a certain number of days. Use fish food to raise their quality. Place a pearl oyster in the hatchery and pearls will grow after enough time has passed.

Beehive[]

Put a flower in a bee hive and bees will nest there. After several days, you will be able to harvest honey from the bees. The type of honey you get will change depending on what type of flower was put in the hive. Try different kinds of flowers to see what honey you get. The flower placed in the hive will wilt after you have harvested honey from it three times. Also, bees aren't active in winter, so honey won't be produced. Wait until spring to place a new flower in the beehive.

Paddy[]

To grow water-based crops, first place a paddy on your farm. Till the paddy with a hoe and fill it with water using a watering can. Once filled, plant an aquatic crop and wait for it to grow. Be aware that paddies will lose water little by little each day. Be careful not to let them go dry completely.

House Upgrades[]

Kitchen[]

When you have the recipe and the required ingredients, you can go to the kitchen to cook. Cooking can help recover stamina. You can also give the things you cook to friends and neighbors. The quality of the resulting dish depends on the ingredients used and your cooking level. When making dishes, you can add one extra ingredient as a topping. Adding toppings will not only raise the dish's quality, but will also make the dish restore more stamina when eaten.

Closet[]

You can go into your closet to change into any of the outfits, headgear, and eyewear that you own. Headgear can be worn with several different types of hairstyles. However, some headgear can't be worn with some hairstyles. If headgear can't be worn with your current hairstyle, it will be displayed in gray and will not be selectable.

Bath/Toilet[]

You can use the toilet or the bath in your home to restore some of your stamina. Both can be used multiple times per day, but wait at least two hours between visits to get the full benefits.
