- "He is stubborn and ill-tempered. He often makes you upset, but you feel like you were able to bond with him a bit"
- ―Musical Note description
Jamie (リオン Rion? lit. Leon) is a marriage candidate in Harvest Moon: Magical Melody.
Short-tempered and stubborn, Jamie holds certain contempt for humans. The Goddess and Sprites recognize that Jamie has a fragile heart and is not a bad person. Like the player, Jamie can see the Harvest Goddess and Harvest Sprites. They have a special relationship to the Goddess, which is never elaborated on, and are fiercely determined to save her from her fate as statue.
As the player's farming rival, Jamie's daily shipping totals are logged beside and compared to their own in the game menu. Despite the attention given to this "rivalry", the player cannot surpass these, nor any rewards or penalties for any results produced. Jamie is the first villager the player meets, being introduced during the opening cut-scene, and never moves out.
Upon visiting the Harvest Goddess Spring after collecting 99 notes, Jamie will provide the player with the 100th musical note, "Meek Heart".
Schedule[]
Jamie is found on various locations, including the farm fields, Sunny Lake, the beach, and inside the Moonlight Cave (first floor).

Marriage Requirements[]
Jamie is eligible to be married by both genders of protagonists. Besides all the normal marriage requirements, the player must revive the Goddess, ship at least one of every crop (this includes Strawberries), own all animals, and obtain the Animal Kingdom Note as well as Birth of Life Note.
Marrying Jamie will cause the game to end, and return to the start screen for players to resume their last save point before proposing to them. Because of this, the player cannot have a child with Jamie.
Jamie, who is referred to in-game with male personal pronouns, has their gender stated when you marry them. The couple will be dressed in wedding clothes with Arthur either saying "Jamie is a boy!" or "Jamie is a girl!"
Trivia[]
- The reason the game ends upon marrying Jamie is because they were not an original marriage candidate. They were an addition added only in the English versions at the last minute, and as such, they were never given actual proper coding to be one. Because of this, the game most likely ends to prevent conflicts with its script, and confusion on part of the player as to why Jamie is acting as if they never married them at all.
