He is one of the members of the Funland company. He is not involved in any of the event paths, but when something goes wrong, he is usually the one blamed for it. Unlike his boss and Charles, Renton is kinder and seems to appreciate the valley more. However, he still has a job to do and, just because he's nice, doesn't mean he's going to have a change of heart.
