The Fish Faceoff occurs every season on the 6th, and is a competition where you must gain points by catching various sizes of fish. In order to unlock this festival, you must have completed Lilikala's storyline and completed Trinny's quest to revive the festival.
Once the day begins, to get the contest started, go to the edge of Lilikala and talk to Trinny anytime between 10am and 6pm. She will have the player pick which class they wish to participate in. In the contest, the player must race against the clock (3 hours) to gather as many points as possible.
Before the contest begins, Mandy will sell different rarities of fish bait depending on the class the player enters.

Tips[]
The best place to fish is the upper left corner of the docks. It may be the furthest from the starting location, but there are two fishing points that both contain large fish here.
Important bug!! If the player is reeling when the hourly announcement is made, the fish will be stuck in a state of flashing red as if the player were improperly reeling. This will almost guarantee the fish is lost.
