Fishing is a very important activity in Harvest Moon. Your catch will vary depending on where you fish, there are basically 3 fishing locations:

One is located on the South side of Chesnut Town by Hunters Farm.

The other is outside town to the south of Gilbert's tent and east of Brutus' house.

The river streaming from the Northwest corner of your farm that ends on a lake at the Southeast corner. In this same area, more fishing locations will become available once two bridges are built to connect your farm to the extended areas to the west and to the south.
