The Hammer is a type of tool in Harvest Moon: Back To Nature.

The Hammer is used to break stones, big stones, and large rock clusters. It can be upgraded by giving the appropriate ore, along with a fee, to Saibara at the Blacksmith Shop. Every 100% allows a specific upgrade (indicated by a miniature ore icon). Tool upgrade levels are displayed in the tools menu.

Upgrades

Hammer

By default, the Hammer is only able to break small Stones.

Copper Hammer

Upgrade cost: Copper ore (x1) + 1,000G

The Copper Hammer is able to break big stones with 4 fully-charged strikes. It cannot break large rock clusters.

Silver Hammer

Upgrade cost: Silver ore (x1) + 2,000G

The Silver Hammer is able to break big stones in 2.5 fully-charged strikes, and large rock clusters in 4.5 fully-charged strikes.

Gold Hammer

Upgrade cost: Gold ore (x1) + 3,000G

The Gold Hammer is able to break big stones in 1 fully-charged strike, and large rock clusters in 2.5 fully-charged strikes.

Mystrile Hammer

Upgrade cost: Mystrile ore (x1) + 5,000G
