The Hammer is a type of tool in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature.
The Hammer is used to break small stones, large stones, and rocks. It can be upgraded by giving the appropriate ore, along with a fee, to Saibara at the Blacksmith Shop. Tool upgrade levels are displayed in the tools menu. Every 100% allows a specific upgrade (indicated by a miniature ore icon).

Hammer
By default, the Hammer can only break small stones. It is not able to break large stones or rocks.
Copper Hammer
- Upgrade cost: Copper ore + 1,000G
The Copper Hammer is able to break large stones with 4 fully-charged strikes. You cannot break rocks with this hammer.
Silver Hammer
- Upgrade cost: Silver ore + 2,000G
The Silver Hammer is able to break large stones in 2.5 fully-charged strikes, and rocks in 4.5 fully-charged strikes.
Gold Hammer
- Upgrade cost: Gold ore + 3,000G
The Gold Hammer is able to break large stones in 1 fully-charged strike, and rocks in 2.5 fully-charged strikes.
Mystrile Hammer
- Upgrade cost: Mystrile ore + 5,000G
The Mystrile Hammer is able to break large stones and rocks with 1 fully-charged strike.
