Lanna (リリー, Rirī^? lit. Lily) is an eligible bachelorette in Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands.

Lanna is a pop singer, famous for a big hit that transformed her into a "one-hit wonder". She's moved to Sprout Island to escape from her career and relax. Although Lanna has a small ego because of her fame, she's also energetic and loves to have fun.

Like Denny, she loves fishing and has a collection of fishing poles in her house. Unlike Island of Happiness, Lanna lives on Sprout Island from the beginning of the game.

Heart Events

Purple Heart Event

Walk into Lanna's house on a rainy day between 6am and 2pm to see her first event.

As you walk into Lanna's house, she calls you over. She's trying to decide on what fishing rod she'll use when the weather gets nicer, and wants you to decide. If you give your opinion, Lanna hopes to use the rod you picked out tomorrow!

Blue Heart Event

Lanna's second event will occur only after watching her purple heart event and she is at a blue heart or higher. It can be triggered between 7pm and 9pm at the café on a sunny day, or between 6pm and 9pm on a rainy day.

Pierre is asking Lanna at the cafe about her career. Lanna becomes upset when Pierre asks why she has stopped singing. Lanna claims that she's only taking a break, but becomes discouraged when she thinks back on her very brief popularity. Lanna has worked really hard on other songs, but they just haven't been very popular!

If you encourage Lanna by suggesting a comeback, she will feel better with somebody encouraging her to work even harder. Lanna won't give up on her dream and thanks you for the support.

Green Heart Event

Walk from Verdure Island to Sprout Island between 9am and 1pm on a sunny day when Lanna is at a green heart or higher. Both previous events must have already been watched.

You hear Lanna singing as you walk by. When you talk to her, Lanna explains that she was practicing her singing. Since you're here, Lanna asks if she can sing with you. If you agree to sing along with her, Lanna thanks you when you're done and says she had fun singing together.

Yellow Heart Event

Enter your farmhouse between 10am and 5pm on a sunny day to see Lanna's final event. Lanna must at a yellow heart or higher and all her previous heart events have been triggered.

Lanna has come to ask if you'd like to do something with her today. If you accept, Lanna will take you to the well on Verdure Island. Lanna wants to tell you about the legend of this well. If two lovers drink from the well, it means that they will be happy forever. Lanna thinks it's romantic and wants to drink from the well someday, even if the legend isn't true. You tell Lanna you'd like to drink the water with her, making her flustered. She doesn't think you're being serious but thinks it's nice of you to say anyway!

This event will end at 6pm and you'll return to your farmhouse.

Proposal

It is possible to propose marriage by using the Blue Feather once certain conditions have been met. You must have the Husband/Wife bed inside your house, have watched all heart events with the candidate you wish to propose to and the candidate must have a red heart color. Additionally, Mystic Islands must be raised and the Goddess must be spoken to once by throwing a gift into her spring.

The Blue Feather can be purchased from Chen's shop once any marriage candidate reaches an orange heart color. If all conditions have been met, the feather will be accepted and you will be engaged!

Wedding

Your wedding will be set for a week after an accepted proposal. The wedding date will be pushed forward a day if the wedding day lands on a festival day, a typhoon, or a blizzard.

You will automatically wake up on the day of your wedding and go to the church for the ceremony. The wedding lasts the entire day and you will be unable to do any of your daily farm work either before or after the ceremony. Afterwards, you will wake up the following day back at the farmhouse with your spouse. They will ask you what you wish to be called now that you're married.

Rival Heart Events

1st Rival Event

Enter Sprout Island via Verdure Island on a clear day between 10am and 1pm. It must be Year 2 or later. Either Denny or Lanna must have a black heart.

Denny is returning home and sees Lanna. She's feeling a bit down since she was unable to catch any fish today. Denny can't help but laugh, but Lanna asks him to try and be more sympathetic! Denny explains that fish don't always bite and it's not so bad when they don't because it's more of a challenge! Denny thinks fishing would be too easy otherwise. His positive outlook has cheered Lanna up.

2nd Rival Event

Visit Nick's diner between 5pm and 7pm any clear day in Year 3 or later. Either Denny or Lanna must be at a green heart color or less. Alternatively, the event can be seen at any affection level if the player is married. The first event must have already been seen.

Denny goes to join Lanna for dinner and realizes her whole table is full of desserts! Lanna offers to share, but Denny doesn't want to eat dessert. Lanna is a bit offended that Denny won't join her, but he explains that he prefers to eat healthy. When Denny tells Lanna that desserts are only for a special occasion, she offers to bake him a cake. That would be special and he would have no choice but to eat it! Denny agrees.

Rival Proposal

Enter Sprout Island via Verdure Island on a clear day between 4pm and 7pm. It must be Year 4 or later. Either Denny or Lanna must be at an orange heart color or less. Alternatively, the event can be seen at any affection level if the player is married. The first two events must have already been seen.

Denny and Lanna are on the beach staring out at the ocean. They comment on what a great day they've both had. Denny tries to ask Lanna something but stops abruptly and then becomes quiet. Lanna is worried that Denny might be sick! She asks how she can help him, and Denny is finally able to ask Lanna to marry him. Denny thinks Lanna is the perfect person for him and would love to be with her, even if he doesn't have much to offer except for his love. He doesn't wait for a reply and starts to walk away. Lanna stops him and says that she accepts his proposal.

Rival Wedding

Rival weddings take place a week after the proposal event. The wedding date will be pushed forward a day if the wedding day lands on a festival day, a typhoon, or a blizzard.

On the morning of a rival wedding, the bride (if playing as Chelsea) or groom (if playing as Mark) will come over to invite you to the wedding. You will go to the church for the ceremony. The wedding lasts the entire day and you will be unable to do any of your daily farm work either before or after the ceremony. After the wedding is over, you will be brought back to the farmhouse the following day.

After marriage, Denny will move into Lanna's home. He will still visit his old shack on the beach from time to time.

Trivia

• If you have 7 hearts with Lanna, she will give you a present if you speak to her on your birthday. There are three different presents available, depending on the year. She will give you either Paella (Year 1), Fish Meuniere (Year 2) or Yam Pudding (Year 3). These gifts will continue in a set rotation every three years.
  • If she gives you Yam Pudding, you can gift it back to her for a major boost of affection (or save it for her birthday in your refrigerator for even more heart points).
