Marriage (AP)

In Harvest Moon: Animal Parade, it is possible for the player to get married. Each gender has ten total candidates available for marriage.

To get married, you must befriend a marriage candidate to 9 hearts, trigger all heart events, purchase a Level 2 house, and obtain the Blue Feather. Regular marriage candidates have events that occur at 2 hearts, 4 hearts, 5 hearts and 7 hearts. Special marriage candidates (Witch/Wizards, Goddess/King) have heart events only at 4 hearts and 7 hearts.

Proposal

Upon triggering the confession, you will receive a letter in the mail from Hamilton. The letter explains the custom of proposing with a Blue Feather and legend of the blue bird.

When a marriage candidate reaches 9 hearts, you will find Mira in front of your house one morning. While taking a morning walk, Mira noticed the blue bird that flew away. She suggests you find it to get the Blue Feather.

The bird only can be found on the summit of Upper Garmon Mine at 5pm. You can either climb all 45 floors of the mine and go to the summit at 5pm, or travel fast there. As you enter the summit at the right time, you will find the blue bird, who will fly away before you could catch it. Luckily, it drops a feather for you, and you now have your own blue feather.

Once all marriage requirements have been completed, show the Blue Feather to your sweetheart. The couple will be taken to Celesta Church to trigger the proposal event. The wedding will take place on a day that is randomly chosen by Mayor Hamilton.

After Marriage

Your spouse will make a lunch every morning. Depending on how many hearts they have, the quality of the lunch will change. Unlike other Harvest Moon games, that person can also help with chores around the farm, including: fishing, mining, watering, harvesting, pickings weeds, milking, brushing, and egg/silk collecting. Their personality depends on what chores they will be best at. You must select a chore to do between 6 and 7am; otherwise your spouse will go out on their own during daytime.

Taking your spouse for a walk is a new way to spend time with them; their heart points will increase from it. You can celebrate your spouse' birthday by gift-giving during the day or entering your house after 6pm. Your spouse may still go out and do things that they did before marriage, but will always return in the evening.
