The Protagonist (主人公 Protagonist?) is the playable main character in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. She is fully nameable by the player.
The protagonist is a young woman who decides to take over her father's farm after his death. Her father's friend, Takakura sent a letter to Maya requesting that she come to Forgotten Valley. Although Maya doesn't know much about farming, Takakura agrees to help run the farm alongside Maya.
In the first year she will get married to any of the available Bachelors or Bachelorettes and the game will skip ahead a few years to raising your child into adulthood.
