(You have edited here semi-recently so I thought I'd sent you the memo in hopes that you will see it).
A staff member has asked us a very important question that all current editors should be weighing in on, as it may change the future of what content we will have on this wikia. If you could visit the below thread and give us your opinion, it would be very much appreciated. There needs to be enough community opinion for anything to change.
I've been blocked on the Corpse Party wiki for spoilers? I recall trying to talk to someone about this when it first happened and explaining that the 'no spoilers plz' thing was not on the main page at the time that I edited w/e it was that I did.
Whoever was the admin that banned me at the time banned me for 100 yrs (without a warning of any kind) and I'm wanting to inquire that it can be removed.
Happy new year! Hope it's been a good one so far. Just thought I'd gather some opinions before I went ahead and made the pages for it.. but I'm going to make animal pages for ToTT.
In Sunshine Islands, there have been seperate articles made for Silkie Chickens/Chickens, Cows/Jersey Cows, Sheep/Suffolk Sheep, etc. In ANB though, for example, they're all clumped together as "chickens", "cows," "sheep", etc. (even though the pages are not complete). What do you think is a better idea? It's inconsistant so I thought I'd streamline it a little better by asking some people's opinions if you want to weigh in at all!
Just wanted to mention too that we have waaaaaaaaaaaaay too many redirects on this wiki, many of which I've cleaned up. I'm deleting all redirects for the HMDS pages taht were changed and the GrB ones as well. Just FYI, if you are going to change the page in the future, try and make sure a redirect isn't left behind. That's why we have disambiguation pages.
I noticed your changes to Enrique/Diego's birthday for ToTT. I'm curious.. are you playing the DS or 3DS version? The reason I ask is because I just passed their supposed birthday (the 21st of Summer). I gave them all a gift to test out the birthday trivia... and all three of them responded with birthday lines. As if they had their birthday all on the same day as we had previously had on their pages (which would also make sense because they're triplets).
I believe you with your edits on their gift responses and possibly having a different birthday.. but I'm just not sure why? The only thing I can think of is that it's a glitch of some sort or that there's some sort of oversite between the two versions of the game.
That information was retrieved from Japanese wiki (which can be seen here ). Since the Japanese version only has the original DS version, I assume it's present only in the DS version (or might be only in the Japanese DS version?).
Which version do you play? I'm not sure if Natsume has corrected when they localized it. I have the English DS version, and if you're not playing the DS version, I can test it later to confirm whether that information is correct or not.
Have you played ANB? I'm fixing up the ANB item pages (like clothing, bugs, crops, fish, etc) and I'm having a bit of trouble with crops. There's just so many variables that are difficult to include in a chart, such as growth time by soil type and the different selling prices for each star level/big crops. The information I've added so far is pretty basic, just to get the page started. There's also other things such as flowers, fruit trees, herbs, grains and mushrooms to categorize and put onto the page if we decide that's where its most relevant to place it.
Do you have any advice on organization or anything that you can add? I asked Jun since she finished up with SoS, but she hasn't really played ANB and neither have I. You've done extensive crop page workings already, so I thought I'd ask. You're probably busy with SoS stuff and what not, but if you have a moment or you think there's anything you could do than that would be great.
I just created a template for ANB crops page, which can be seen here.
Please let me know if there's anything to fix!
Also, I'm thinking to separate the crops based on seasons and categories: vegetables, fruits, etc with sub-pages or tabbers, which is similar to what we have for character pages. Of course if you don't mind that is.
Redirect page is fine because it actually help people to find the page regardless how it's spelled. Well, about BTN vs BtN thing, well, the latter is grammatically correct, but I think the NA box art write the t in capital letter, sooo.... I think we should go with BTN instead (whatever give us the least amount of work to do).
BTN seems fine since a lot of our pages already have it with the capital T in the title. It would be less work. Plus, in other games with 'The' (Like 'The Lost Valley') also have 'The' capitilized (even though it's also the first word in the sentance as well).
I've been deleting old redirects as well. I agree that redirects are useful, but we have an AWFUL lot of them. I don't think that they've ever been cleaned out since the wikia started to be honest. I'm leaving redirects that are helpful and using my own common sense. Redirects can be useful, but not always if there are multiple ones.
I'm able to see a list of every page on the wikia through the admin panel. So from there, I can look at what redirects to where and if it's necessary or not. For example Allen (LoB) wasn't necessary. We had it listed as LoB when we thought the game was going to be "Land of Beginning" and not "A New Beginning". If I've deleted something you feel is necessary, just let me know and I can always restore it. I can also look to see if the redirects I'm deleting are creating broken links on other pages. But so far, so good.
I'd rather keep the Back to Nature pages as BTN and not BtN.
I've also added an 'Articles for Deletion' tag to the individual crop and seed pages. This way, they will all be grouped together, and when the crop page is complete, I can go through the entire category and delete the pages as needed. This will make it easier for me, feel free to add any pages that have been merged into one article that need deleting.
Except missing pictures, the crop page for BTN is complete (unless I'm forgetting something, feel free to add the missing info). There are few crop-related events, which should belong in the event page, and the "ingredient for this and that recipe" -type info which belong in recipes page.
Hello and thanks for your help. I just want to leave a message on your talk page in case you didn't see it in the edit summary, but I've rolled back a lot of your edits. We do acknowledge that a character with the same name (like Ann) has different roles depending on the game - as seen on each page that she appears in. We do not, however, arrange our "apperances" part of the infobox to reflect this. The reason being that it'll get way too complicated - even if the same character is not seen as being in the same "role" so to speak. The appearances box is meant to lay out all of that character's appearances in a series for easy redirecting and is not based on role or by game.
So for example, even if Ann's a rancher in HM64, we would still list her other appearances in the infobox for later games when she's an innkeeper. This is the way that the whole wikia has been set up and we ask that it not be changed at this time, thanks for your understanding.
The problem is that the inventor Ann is a different character than the inn keeper Ann. The inventor Ann (HM and MM) is named Ann in Japanese, while the inn keeper Ann is Ran in Japanese. They coincidentally shared the same name in English version of the game, but they technically are not the same person. That's why I edited the appearance part in the box to not including MM (Magical Melody).
It is kinda like Maria (in BtN) and Maria (in HM and MM). They are different characters with different appearance, but share the same name. Ann (HM, MM) and Ann (BtN and future games) look awfully similar, but they are different character - not same character with different role as you're talking about.
HM64 Ann is an interesting case, but so are all characters in HM64. But I understand the situation and respect the decision.
