  • Hi Mai,

I tried to do some work on the Gift Box template. For shorter pages, like Cain for example the 600px diameter was too large to fit within the same space as the character infobox. I changed the size from 600px to 500px (but made no other changes).

It now fits better on shorter pages. But I'm wondering if I screwed something up, somehow. On pages like Doc, there's some gray space on the right side of the "table". Is this because the list of gifts is so small that it doesn't fill 500px worth of space? I'm not sure if this is because of the way the new template is coded or not... or if I maybe made an error while I was trying to edit it. But just thought I'd give you a heads up anyways.

  • If the character is a returning character you should do this. Sorry, i can't say it much, but...

    For example:
I already edited Celia's page from Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life here. I added extra section according to Style Manual.

If you want to edit Celia's page from Harvest Moon: DS, there's no need to add them again, or you could add them again by saying something like "As a returning character from A Wonderful Life, Celia still looks the same as when she was in the first game she appeared in" on Appearance section. The page should focus mostly on Harvest Moon: DS.

Clara, I hate to Interject, but why question the admins of the wiki for their every move? She owns this place so if she wants to delete a page she really shouldn't have to answer to you: she had a reason.

It was a duplicate page, even I could see that.

The style manual is what we use. I honestly didn't know the layout page existed until you called attention to it. . Call it ignorance, but its a small community and stuff does get missed. Shrinking down duplicates is good to avoid confusion. You were trying to help by using a format, but having two different formatting pages doesn't help anyone.

  • Hey, I'd just like to ask about the proper way to place the Template:Disambig template on a page. It seems a bit petty to ask, sorry, I know! But, most templates always appear at the top of the page, such as Template:Stub or Template:Delete however Disambig has always been mixed between the top of the pages and the bottom.

Someone recently added pages, with them all to the bottom, so it now raises a question to me as to what's preffered?

    • Most I seen are at the bottom, it's less distracting from the information and makes the page look neater.

    • I would put them at the bottom, Wild. I'm pretty sure that they were originally always at the bottom and over time have migrated to the top of the article.

    • Gotcha. Wasn't sure because most notice templates appear at the top and it was fairly inconsistent

  • Can you move Harvest Moon: Light of Hope SE Complete to Harvest Moon: Light of Hope, under the heading "Special Edition" or whatever? The info is too short. You did that with Plot on Rune Factory wikia.

  • Hi Mai,

I have a user, Wildheart970 asking for additional privileges here on the wikia. However, because I myself am not a bureaucrat, I am unable to "promote" any users here on the wikia to anything except for Chat Moderator or Discussions Moderator. Perhaps a bureaucrat or admin status wouldn't be appropriate for them to start with -- but please consider upgrading them to rollback at least to start. They have done a lot of great work for the wikia and have some great ideas. They are fairly active and committed.

If possible, please consider changing me to a bureaucrat as well. It hasn't really occured to be because we haven't added any team members in awhile, but it would be good if I was able to do that while I am still here and active. I know you are busy with other wikias and don't come here often.

    Cheers!

  • Hi Mai,

A user brought to my attention that our infoboxes aren't portable. They've asked me about making some changes but you know more about infoboxes than I do.

Take a look at this thread on my talk page if you get a chance: http://harvestmoon.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:35102

  • Hey Mai. Nice to see you adding on to the new games, as I'm still always chugging away at the old games.

Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that I reverted the changes to the gift box. The reason is that the "gift" bar was too long. It wasn't the right dimensions to fit inside of the area with the character box on characters with shorter articles. This made it so that it was being pushed down to the bottom of the page underneath the character box. You know what I'm trying to say (I think). Works for longer pages, but no so much on shorter articles with character that we can't add much more information to to make it any longer, you know?

But in any case, the history will show your changes that you had before I rolled them back. So if you ever want to tinker with it again, that will all still be there. Take care!
