  • I'm notifying you again that you already reverted all my edits mainly on SoSFoMT character pages, especially since you did not state a rationale in your edit summary. There are no extra information to add either, because the game still doesn't have anything to add as you play on.

  • Stop undoing edits without actual/real reason, as you did on Karen (FoMT) page! I removed the Quotes because red links seem REALLY UNNECESSARY. Please be careful of this in the future, as this has happened many times!

    • The red link is there for a wanted page, not really because the page was broken. Meaning it wasn't a mistake, without it people might not know it was wanted at all. If you look at templates they're full of red wanted links, doesn't make them wrong or unnecessary

I also undid your edit because it broke the line template, making the lines nothing more than just dashes.

If you have a good reason red links should be removed, I'm all ears but until then I'm firm on my belief.

  • Ask admins that these pages should not be deleted. Just make it redirect to individual pages.

    1. Gifts (SoM) -> Harvest Moon: Seeds of Memories
    2. Lumina (AWLSE) -> Lumina (AWL)
    3. Goat (TOT) -> Goat (ToT)
    4. Funland (HoLV) -> Harvest Moon: Hero of Leaf Valley (sounds better)

    • You can create a redirect page on your own! Go to create a page menu and type #REDIRECT (Link to whatever page you're redirecting it to). Most of these pages are duplicates, which is why they're marked.

And I don't quite understand why you're bringing this to me and not an admin?

    • If you've got an admin question Clara, it'd be easier to ask me. I wouldn't have seen this message if I didn't scroll through the wiki activity.

Having multiple redirects is counter-productive and a waste. When somebody types in 'Goat' for example, and they see the ToT links... they can click on the larger (TOT) link which will then redirect them to the (ToT) link. Well why would I do that, rather than just have ONE page Goat (ToT). It's only one letter off and it's an extra step that isn't at all necessary. Redirects are only necessary if it's highly likely that a certain page will be popular enough that people will actually find it using the re-direct. A Wonderful Life, for example, works really well as a re-direct because it's very likely people will search for this rather than type in the entire game name.

This is why disambiguation pages are really, really useful. Disambiguation pages sort of act like re-directs in a way. You can also create your own redirects, like Wildheart said. I know I'm a bit late to answer this, so I think you've managed to make your own re-directs anyhow. If you feel like a page warrants one, then feel free. They are easy enough to delete or change.

    • I think "Harvest Moon Indonesia" is really not necessary to be deleted. Just make the page redirect to Minna de Bokujō Monogatari as the game explicitly shows that it is an alternative version of MdBM.

  • Thanks for fixing my edit by putting it in the gift section, i didnt realize i put it in the wrong section.

    • That's quite alright! It really wasn't wrong either way. I was fixing a grammar mistake and thought it looked better in the gift section is all.

  • Hi WildHeart970. I am a new comer to the world of wiki, especially specifically Harvest Moon Light of Hope PC / Steam which is very much different from the Android version. When I follow this wiki, I am greatly helped by the results of this PC version of HM LoH wiki, and there are a few that I might help, Like Some That Are Still Unknown or Not Known? I am an active player on the PC and Android harvest moon game Until now. With this it is nice to get to know you who made pages for the harvest moon game. Thank you, Sorry if my edits were wrong, I am just trying to try my best to finish the pages that you created but haven't finished, maybe there are some things that you might not explore one by one every inch.

  • Hi Wildheart.

A staff member has asked us a very important question that all current editors should be weighing in on, as it may change the future of what content we will have on this wikia. If you could visit the below thread and give us your opinion, it would be very much appreciated. There needs to be enough community opinion for anything to change.

  • Hey,

I don't really have any issues with changing your status with rollback for starters, but I can't do it. It's not allowing me to change your status to anything but Chat Moderator or Discussons Moderator. We have so many bureaucrats because on Wikia, once you've been made a bureaucrat, it's permanent. You cannot remove the status unless you ask Wikia staff or the person removes the status themselves. Trust me, I've tried!

I would ask Mai if she is able to change your status. Because I've got Admin status but not bureaucratic status, I do not have a say in changing or "promoting" users. I will also leave a message on her wall.

  • Are you still working on A New Beginning and Story of Seasons character pages...too? The articles are practically non-existant, IGN has nothing and there few to no Reverse Confession transcript on Youtube (especially bachelorettes), as well as dialog(ue)s/quotes.

Oh, I already edit or made one. Try it: Rod (ANB)/Quotes. I asked if anyone can help complete, so sometimes my edit are wrong.

    • I am not actually working on these pages per-say and don't even own the two games. I'm more working on formatting the pages and fitting them to the Style Manual

Hello, Nix! I noticed that on the wiki, none of the Romance events follow a specific template between games, or even really, in some cases, between characters in the same games.

I also noticed that the wiki has a template { { TrioEvent } }. While this was specifically made for the use of Trio of Towns bachelor(ette)s, why not use it on other pages or create a general event template for other games? It seems kind of sloppy ( to me anyway) to have Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns formatted one way but have other games such as Harvest Moon: Skytree Village formatted different, when they have the same general information. (See: Wayne (Trio), Cyril (LoH) for examples of this)

The same goes for Schedules, which are inconsistent through the wiki. Trio characters have an elaborate table, while some other pages have simplified tables and others don't have tables at all and either lack schedules or have short text listing it off. (See: Wayne (Trio), Doc (LoH), Ash (TToTT) for examples of this)

Thanks for your input, Wildheart. I appreciate you looking out for the wikia and for the hard work you're doing.

I've fallen behind on Harvest Moon over the years. I've only played up to Tale of Two Towns. I recently went back and played Tree of Tranquility, as I prefer the older titles, rather than moving forward. I can only really work on games I have knowledge on. So anything newer than ToTT, I really have nothing to do with. I'm sorry that I haven't given these games attention and that there is inconsistancy.

For older games I have worked on, I have tried to make things consistant. Such as creating schedule tables (like in Friends of Mineral Town), which I hoped would be the norm to use. Using a template for schedules doesn't always work, as when this was done with Emma's page, for example, each CHARACTER needed their own template. This to me looks no different than Mary's schedule for example, but this is a table that can be changed for each character in every game without ever needing a bunch of templates. If you are interested in formatting schedules, please try the table format that's shown in Mary's page. Cyril's page is another good example. That's how we want schedules to look. Wayne's schedule is out of the norm and I don't see that style used anywhere else on the wikia. If the schedule is incomplete and has short information such as Bob, Eve, or Rock, it's because there is no strict schedule that we can pin-point and we can only estimate.. or there are no resources to make a complete schedule/nobody has taken the time to actually track each character and put in the schedule. In these cases, do you think it's best not to include locations/schedule at all? It may be feasible to put everything into a table format so they all look similar, but schedules do not work the same across every game.

Pages such as Gill, Popuri, Nina, Laney and Jeanne are all good examples to compare side to side. They are all varying slightly in contents, but they are all try to be laid out very similar. The games are all different so it's difficult to have all of the same information, but lay out and tables/templates are similar. This reflects the way the rest of the wikia looks, rather than the out of place formatting of some of the more elaborate Trio of Towns pages. Pages like Klaus and Edmund for example, are very out of line and need cleaning up and reformatting. A lot of Story of Seasons and A New Beginning pages are a hot mess. The information is there, but the formatting just needs to be put in place and the page cleaned up to reflect the rest of the wikia's look. I'm aware of this, but never having played either game, I would have nothing to contribute except for formatting. If the information contained within the pages were wrong, I'd have no idea unless I was cross-checking references or eventually played it myself, hence why I haven't touched them.

Looking at the editing history for Wayne's page, the entire page was edited primarily by our other admin. She's got a lot of wikia skill and runs her own, often doing elaborate tables/templates for all information. But if she's not able to provide this kind of content for other pages/change tables to suit all games, then I agree that it should not be included for the sake of uniformity. It looks as if Mai did a lot of special tables for Trio, also making their own gift template, which seems unnecessary and something that could only be used for that game specifically, which hardly seems fair.

As for heart events, I've repeatedly asked people not to/have edited any heart events that have each color in their own seperate heading. It makes the contents section of the article long and messy, and each does not need their own heading. We want heart events to just be one large heading and have the section laid out similar to Maya's, Georgia's, or Elli's pages. Looking at the { { TrioEvent } } template is certainly a very short and curt way to break down every heart event, but it doesn't do anything to explain the event to those who are simply looking to read about it, or watch a video, for those pages that have them. I don't like the usage of this template personally. It's a "non spoiler" way to get across basic information, but it doesn't seem very helpful. Some games also do not have an "affection" system, so they wouldn't even be able to use the template, especially older games like Animal Parade, the original Harvest Moon, A Wonderful Life, etc. This template only seems to be used in Trio of Towns, so again, I'm not sure why they are still there. Games like Light of Hope or Skytree Village don't even use "heart" events anymore, so it becomes irrelevant.

All in all, I'd say somebody went over the top to use a lot of tables and information to give Trio of Towns a unique look but it doesn't line up with how the rest of the wikia is set up. It shouldn't need its own special tables. It's the odd man out when you look at many different games.

Sorry for the novel. I'm aware that there's a lot of work that has to be done here on the wikia, but we simply do not have the manpower to do it all, so the wikia gets in a state of disarray. It gets a bit discouraging. There are a few very helpful people (such as yourself) who really do care and make very constructive edits that help and benefit us all. Right now, I'm just slowly working through the Tree of Tranquility pages as I see fit and I haven't worked on much else in awhile. If there's a specific project you'd like to under take/fix, I wouldn't mind helping you. Even if it's just re-formatting, entering information, making sure references are in place, etc, I can do that. Please don't be afraid to ask. Even if it's something I've never played, I should be willing to try and do any editing I can to help the wikia overall.

Finally, if you have any suggestions or input I'd like to hear it. If anybody actually bothers to read the Style Manual, we do have a basic set up there for most pages, although I know that this too could probably be more specific.

    • Alright, sorry for a later reply despite me being active, I'd been thinking it over. I feel as though formatting should be top priority over information, as it helps determine how information is presented and to create pages. Even if you haven't played the games you should be able to add empty headers or move information around to properly format pages. These can be put under a category for others to actually expand on and edit.

I can definitely see why templates aren't feasible, with over 30 titles and hundreds of characters. Honestly, the schedule table provided is much easier to read and understand. For areas where schedules need added, it might be ok to document the work in progress information on the character's talk page, though if not, the information on the page is probably better information than nothing.

The template is also Understandable, though I believe their is a way to make it so areas don't show unless they're filled in. That might look ugly and awkward, though. I'd definitely send Mai a message and make sure the two of you are on the same page on how pages are lined up. The templates for Story of Seasons are cool, but really stick out like a sore thumb when looked at beside other pages.
