May I ask why you reverted my edits to those quote pages? The existing category does not exist and I had replaced it with one that does. Is there a plan to actually create that category and expand upon it?
I can't speak for Wildheart personally, but I've looked at the edit history. Wildheart can add on as they see fit. This is just from an admin perspective.
1. Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town is a new game that is due to come out soon. This is different from the original Friends of Mineral Town. As such, we are using different categories as to not mix the two up. Not just for quotes, but for all of the game content that will be included in the game when it is released here.
2. The existing category didn't exist because the game is unreleased still (in North America) and we are currently in the process of setting up pages to edit when we have more knowledge and access to the game. Once again, a Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town Quotes category is more appropriate than using the Friends of Mineral Town Quotes category. They are two different games.
3. There was definitely always a plan to make the category that Wildheart had changed the page to. We just hadn't done so by the time you came to edit. We will add more pages to the category so it is more useful, hopefully with the release of SoS: FoMT.
Hopefully this explanation helped. We appreciate you trying to help us here on the wiki.
Sorry I didn't respond sooner, I had to work and haven't been around wiki today! The answer is basically all of what Nixerix said. The categories you added was for the older game versus the newer remake one.
I'm notifying you again that you already reverted all my edits mainly on SoSFoMT character pages, especially since you did not state a rationale in your edit summary. There are no extra information to add either, because the game still doesn't have anything to add as you play on.
Stop undoing edits without actual/real reason, as you did on Karen (FoMT) page! I removed the Quotes because red links seem REALLY UNNECESSARY. Please be careful of this in the future, as this has happened many times!
The red link is there for a wanted page, not really because the page was broken. Meaning it wasn't a mistake, without it people might not know it was wanted at all. If you look at templates they're full of red wanted links, doesn't make them wrong or unnecessary
I also undid your edit because it broke the line template, making the lines nothing more than just dashes.
If you have a good reason red links should be removed, I'm all ears but until then I'm firm on my belief.
You can create a redirect page on your own! Go to create a page menu and type #REDIRECT (Link to whatever page you're redirecting it to). Most of these pages are duplicates, which is why they're marked.
And I don't quite understand why you're bringing this to me and not an admin?
If you've got an admin question Clara, it'd be easier to ask me. I wouldn't have seen this message if I didn't scroll through the wiki activity.
Having multiple redirects is counter-productive and a waste. When somebody types in 'Goat' for example, and they see the ToT links... they can click on the larger (TOT) link which will then redirect them to the (ToT) link. Well why would I do that, rather than just have ONE page Goat (ToT). It's only one letter off and it's an extra step that isn't at all necessary. Redirects are only necessary if it's highly likely that a certain page will be popular enough that people will actually find it using the re-direct. A Wonderful Life, for example, works really well as a re-direct because it's very likely people will search for this rather than type in the entire game name.
This is why disambiguation pages are really, really useful. Disambiguation pages sort of act like re-directs in a way. You can also create your own redirects, like Wildheart said. I know I'm a bit late to answer this, so I think you've managed to make your own re-directs anyhow. If you feel like a page warrants one, then feel free. They are easy enough to delete or change.
I think "Harvest Moon Indonesia" is really not necessary to be deleted. Just make the page redirect to Minna de Bokujō Monogatari as the game explicitly shows that it is an alternative version of MdBM.
I am a new comer to the world of wiki, especially specifically Harvest Moon Light of Hope PC / Steam which is very much different from the Android version. When I follow this wiki, I am greatly helped by the results of this PC version of HM LoH wiki, and there are a few that I might help, Like Some That Are Still Unknown or Not Known?
I am an active player on the PC and Android harvest moon game Until now.
With this it is nice to get to know you who made pages for the harvest moon game. Thank you, Sorry if my edits were wrong, I am just trying to try my best to finish the pages that you created but haven't finished, maybe there are some things that you might not explore one by one every inch.
A staff member has asked us a very important question that all current editors should be weighing in on, as it may change the future of what content we will have on this wikia. If you could visit the below thread and give us your opinion, it would be very much appreciated. There needs to be enough community opinion for anything to change.
I don't really have any issues with changing your status with rollback for starters, but I can't do it. It's not allowing me to change your status to anything but Chat Moderator or Discussons Moderator. We have so many bureaucrats because on Wikia, once you've been made a bureaucrat, it's permanent. You cannot remove the status unless you ask Wikia staff or the person removes the status themselves. Trust me, I've tried!
I would ask Mai if she is able to change your status. Because I've got Admin status but not bureaucratic status, I do not have a say in changing or "promoting" users. I will also leave a message on her wall.
