Natalie (ナタリー, Natarī^?) is an eligible bachelorette in Harvest Moon: Sunshine Islands.

Natalie lives with her family on the island. She helps with the family shipping business, although she'd much rather be playing pranks on her grandfather, Taro, or teasing her brother, Elliot. She often works alongside her mother Felicia.

Although Natalie teases her brother, she's not mean spirited, and has a softer side that comes out every so often. She loves food, which is something she shares in common with Pierre, your rival for her affection.

Heart Events

Purple Heart Event

Enter Taro's house between 6am and 9am or 7pm and 10pm when Natalie has a purple heart color minimum.

Natalie is in her bedroom straightening up the bookshelf. Taro has asked Natalie to organize the books, but Natalie wants to place all the books upside down instead! Natalie thinks it would be a very funny prank and asks for your help.

Offer to help and when you're done, Taro will come and inspect the shelf. He can't recognize any of the book titles and feels confused, which makes Natalie laugh.

Blue Heart Event

Walk to Verdure Island from Ranch Island on a sunny day between 4pm and 7pm. Natalie must have a blue heart color minimum and the first event must have been watched previously.

Natalie and Elliot are standing outside their house together. Natalie is thinking about how she only has to grow one more inch to be taller than Elliot! Elliot feels slightly distressed by this. Natalie teases Elliot, calling him scrawny. She asks you if you think she'll be able to outgrow her brother.

If you agree that she will keep growing, Natalie feels happy that you've taken her side. She teases Elliot, telling him he needs to drink more milk in order to grow! Elliot hates milk and doesn't want to listen, so he leaves. Natalie tells you not to worry, as her teasing is done out of concern for Elliot's health.

Green Heart Event

Enter Mirabelle's shop on a rainy day between 3pm and 6pm when Natalie has a green heart color minimum, after watching the first two events.

Julia and Natalie are discussing the different things they look for in a guy. It's Natalie's turn to tell Julia what she likes, but she seems nervous now that you're here. Choose to wait and listen patiently to what Natalie has to say.

Natalie seems to think that you're eavesdropping on their girl talk! She doesn't want to talk about this anymore. Julia lightly begins to tease her, but doesn't pressure her into saying any more. Natalie then asks to change the subject.

Yellow Heart Event

Natalie's last event will take place automatically as you enter your farmhouse between 10am and 5pm on any sunny day, as long as Natalie has a yellow heart minimum and all previous heart events have been watched.

Natalie has come to ask you to take a walk with her. If you accept, the two of you will stroll on Sprout Island, past the café. Natalie gets the idea to stop in for tea. She's happy to sit down for a break and asks if you find running the ranch difficult. She thinks getting all of the crops to grow must be hard work. When you say that it isn't, she's impressed. Natalie doesn't have much of a green thumb and has never had any luck getting even a simple flower to grow. You try to encourage her to try growing something again. Although she doesn't believe she can do it, Natalie is convinced that she should at least try! She thanks you for coming out with her today and talking with her.

This event will end at 6pm and you'll be brought back to your farmhouse.

Proposal

It is possible to propose marriage by using the Blue Feather once certain conditions have been met. You must have the Husband/Wife bed inside your house, have watched all heart events with the candidate you wish to propose to and the candidate must have a red heart color. Additionally, Mystic Islands must be raised and the Goddess must be spoken to once by throwing a gift into her spring.

The Blue Feather can be purchased from Chen's shop once any marriage candidate reaches an orange heart color. If all conditions have been met, the feather will be accepted and you will be engaged!

Wedding

Your wedding will be set for a week after an accepted proposal. The wedding date will be pushed forward a day if the wedding day lands on a festival day, a typhoon, or a blizzard.

You will automatically wake up on the day of your wedding and go to the church for the ceremony. The wedding lasts the entire day and you will be unable to do any of your daily farm work either before or after the ceremony. After the wedding, you will wake up the following day back at the farmhouse with your new spouse. They will ask you what you wish to be called now that you're married.

Rival Heart Events

Black Rival Event

Enter Taro's house on any sunny day between 12pm and 1pm or 9pm and 10pm. Alternatively, it can be seen on rainy/snowy days between 6am and 10am or 8pm and 10pm. It must be Year 2 or later.

Pierre has come to ask Natalie for some turnips to use in a new dish that he's been creating. After checking the inventory, Natalie says that she can bring the turnips to Pierre's house later on. Pierre thanks her and compliments Natalie for always picking the perfect produce for him. Natalie is flattered, but reminds Pierre that the crops all come from the player's farm. Pierre is inspired to make a dish deserving of such wonderful crops. Natalie says she can't wait to taste Pierre's new dish.

Green Rival Event

This event requires either Pierre or Natalie to be at a green heart color or less. Alternatively, the event can be seen at any affection level if the player is married. It must be Year 3 or later. Enter Pierre's house on a clear day between 10am and 1pm, or on a rainy/snowy day between 6am and 9am or 8pm and 10pm.

Natalie has come to visit Pierre and immediately notices his massive kitchen! Pierre says that his kitchen is a standard size for someone of the Gourmet family and asks Natalie if she likes to cook. Natalie admits that she does like cooking but isn't very skilled at it. Pierre is happy to hear that Natalie likes cooking. He is convinced that she can be a good chef one day, since cooking comes from the heart! Natalie doesn't know whether she believes that or not, but thinks its nice of him to say anyways.

Pierre suggests that he cooks something for the two of them. He asks Natalie for a suggestion, but she insists he makes something that he would recommend.

Rival Proposal

In Year 4 or later after watching the previous two events, this final event can be seen if Natalie or Pierre have less than an orange heart color of affection. Alternatively, the event can be viewed at any affection level if the player is married. Enter Verdure Island via Ranch island on any clear day between 3pm and 6pm.

Natalie and Pierre comment on what a beautiful day it is and watch the clouds together. Pierre starts pointing out the clouds that look like different foods. Natalie wonders if Pierre only ever thinks about food. Pierre says it isn't always the only thing on his mind and admits that he thinks about Natalie lately when he's cooking. Pierre is inspired to make dishes since Natalie likes his cooking so much! Natalie feels a little bit saddened by this, asking Pierre if he only thinks of her as a food taster. Pierre says that isn't true and says that Natalie is also excellent conversation at dinner!

Natalie is annoyed now, but Pierre finally admits his true feelings for her. Natalie is relieved to hear his true feelings and admits that she feels the same.

Rival Wedding

Rival weddings take place a week after the proposal event. The wedding date will be pushed forward a day if the wedding day lands on a festival day, a typhoon, or a blizzard.

On the morning of a rival wedding, the bride (if playing as Chelsea) or groom (if playing as Mark) will come over to invite you to the wedding. You will go to the church for the ceremony. The wedding lasts the entire day and you will be unable to do any of your daily farm work either before or after the ceremony. After the wedding is over, you will be brought back to the farmhouse the following day.

After marriage, Natalie will move in with Pierre.

Trivia

• If you have 7 hearts with Natalie, she will give you a present if you speak to her on your birthday. There are three different presents available, depending on the year. She will give you either a Fruit Sandwich (Year 1), Blueberry Juice (Year 2) or Strawberry Milk (Year 3). These gifts will continue in a set rotation every three years.
  • If she gives you a Fruit Sandwich, you can gift it back to her for a major boost of affection (or save it for her birthday in your refrigerator for even more heart points).
