Pets are a furry familiar available in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns.
Purchase[]
Pets are available for purchase at Animal Instincts in Westown and Rural Outfitters in Tsuyukusa.
Care[]
Caring for your pets will raise their affection for you. Pets with high affection are more likely to win contests. Here are three important things to know about taking care of pets: petting, feeding, and taking walks.
- Petting
If you press the A Button when you have nothing equipped, you can pet your pet.
- Feeding
Put pet food into the pet house's feeding area to feed your pets.
- Taking Walks
Stand in front of your pet's pet house and press the A Button to take that pet for a walk. Your pet will follow you throughout the walk. Sometimes it may dash off and bring back an item. Try taking your pet on walks to various places. While on a walk, you can use a dog bone or a cat bell to play with your pet. Throw the item and your pet will dash off and bring it back. Play fetch with your pet for as long as you like. When you want to finish your walk, stand in front of the pet's pet house again and press the A Button to put them back.
Abilities[]
Pets have various abilities that let them help you on your farm, such as herding and finding items. Each pet has a unique ability. When you buy your pet, be sure to check which kind of ability it has.
- Herding
Pets with the "herding" ability will help you move your livestock into and out of their barns to graze. At first, they will only be able to herd one animal. But the more they do it, the more animals they will learn to herd.
- Item Finding
Pets with the "item finding" ability will find various items during the day and bring them back to you. Visit your pet around 17:00 each day to see what they've found. The more they search for items, the more likely they'll be to find more or better items.
Furmiliar[]
When you become very friendly with your favorite pet, you can have them become your furmiliar. Furmiliars will bring you gifts on special occasions. When you want to have a pet become your furmiliar, visit Inari and make an offering of a Tsuyukusa-native crop. If you want to make your furmiliar a regular pet again, return to Inari and make another offering of a Tsuyukusa-native crop. After one year has passed since your pet became your familiar, you celebrate with a special cake for pets.
Events[]
When you have 5 hearts of friendship or more with your furmiliar, 15 special events can be unlocked.
Another one of Dessie's spells has backfired and you will be temporarily turned into a dog where you'll have adventures in all three towns. There needs to be at least 20 days in between triggering each of the furmiliar events.
