This article is about Rick, a character from Harvest Moon 64. You may be looking for Rick in his other appearances throughout the series.

Rick (リック Rikku?) is a character in the game Harvest Moon 64. He is the cousin of Gray and Ann, and is, therefore, nephew to Doug.

He owns the tool shop where the player can purchase tools to care for their animals, and items for storage and decoration in their house. When the player gets one of the bachelorette's heart meter high enough, the Blue Feather will also appear in his shop. Rick is cheerful, friendly, and a bit chatty. Once the player has high affection with him, Rick will reveal some of Gray's backstory if he is talked to at the Horse Races. He will also repair the music box, which can make him invaluable for the glitch of digging up multiple boxes to give to the bachelorettes repeatedly.

If the player gives him milk, he will give a recipe for handmade butter.

Cousin Conference

  • Enter Rick's shop to find Ann and Rick talking. Ann came by because she thought Rick was sick. Rick tells her that he is not sick; he has just been having trouble inventing anything new, so his shop is closed pretty often. They then go on to discuss how their grandmother experienced many failures before inventing something great. Ann will scold Rick on his laziness, to take his business more seriously, and for closing the shop too often.

*Requirements: Must be on a Thursday, and it cannot be raining. The player also must have a decent friendship with both Ann and Rick.

New invention

  • If the player gives Rick a Rare Metal from the Mine in Moon Mountain, he will show up at the player's farm on the first day of Spring with a machine that can transport an item from one spot to another. He asks the player if they would be willing to be the subject of trying out the machine; whether the player agrees or not, Rick decides to try with a cabbage first, which becomes frozen when it reappears. An embarrassed Rick thanks the player for their time and decides to experiment further.
