He serves as a guide and helps to run your farm. He was a very close friend to the player's father. The two shared a dream of owning and running a farm together. They founded the farm in Forget-Me-Not Valley. However, before the two were able to effectively use the farm at their disposal, the player's father died of unknown causes. This left Takakura alone to seek out his partner's child. Together, Takakura and the player build the farm up to what he and the the player's father had hoped it would be.

As your farm and family grows, Takakura will remain by your side to help. He handles all of the shipping and building for your farm. If you put something in your shipping bin, Takakura will leave early in the morning, and return with profit in the afternoon. He will also take animals you wish to sell to the city. He will even build on to your house (free of charge) when you have a family. When you have a child, he may even refer to Takakura as his grandfather.

He lives in a small shack on your property, alone. He may be a hard villager to find, as he's always hard at work. He has a very strict working routine, waking up early to work and returning in the evening. When Takakura is inside his home, it will be locked and you cannot access it.

Shipping items often will build your friendship with Takakura. He will eventually give you a Horse free of charge as well. In later years, Tartan will live inside his home and be usable by the player, allowing much more variety of crops and seeds for the farm.

Women Change Over Time (Part 2)
Exit your house around 6-9PM a day or two after the above scene. You'll see Marlin and Takakura talking outside Takakura's house, and Marlin will invite you to come in for a drink. Once inside, Marlin will say that when they are young, women are willing to listen to men and do as they're told, but when they get older, it's the other way around! He'll ask you about your wife: has she changed like that? If you tell Marlin that your wife has not changed and is still wonderful (option 1), Takakura will then speak up with his own thoughts on the matter.
