Takakura (タカクラ Takakura?) is a character in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life.
He serves as a guide and helps to run your farm. He was a very close friend to the player's father, whom he ran the farm with before the player takes over. As your farm and family grows, Takakura will remain by your side to help. He handles all of the shipping and building for your farm. If you put something in your shipping bin, Takakura will leave early in the morning, and return with profit in the afternoon. He will also take animals you wish to sell to the city.
He lives alone in a small house on your property. He may be a hard villager to find, as he's always hard at work and moves around often. He has a very strict working routine, waking up early to work and returning around noon. Although a bit of a loner, he is an important part of the player's family - being invited to join in on festivals and being an integral part of your child's life at each stage of development.
He will gift you a horse free of charge sometime during the Summer of Year 1. Before showing you the horse he will give you 3 color options to choose from for the horse: Brown, Black, and White. On Spring 1 Year 2, he will summon the player to his house and introduce the player to the talking plant Vinnie which unlocks plant hybridization for the player for the rest of the game.
Takakura acts as a sort of narrator for the game via 'speaking' to the player's father. He will tell the player's father about the events in town at the start of each chapter and fill him in on the events that took place between the years, saying how the player has started a family, taking care of the farm, and so on. When the player dies, Takakura will express grief. Takakura will then start to talk to the player and their father, filling them in on the farm's status after they have died, revealing what their child has decided to pursue.
Befriending Takakura may influence your child to be a Rancher. Starting from Chapter 2, after befriending all residents of Forgotten Valley to 90% on the affection bar, excluding Vinnie, Takakura will gift the player the record "Wonderful!!" after talking to him.[1]
Schedule[]
Wakes up at 5 AM to check the shipping container and ledger for orders and leaves Forgotten Valley to go to the city. He can be seen returning around 9 AM from the city and walks towards the player's farm.
At noon he will enter the farm to deposit any profits from any products left in the shipping container. He will then enter the pasture from the Barn and enter the chicken coop.
