Now that the bonfire has been tidied up, Grandfather and I will sometimes sit by it at night and tell stories. Sitting by the fire, listening to the ocean and looking at the stars brings a sense of peace and serenity to me.

Tototara has done so much to help us that I worked extra hard to clean up the area around her inn. I'm glad we managed to decorate things in a way that everyone enjoys.

Grandfather greatly enjoys the new pier. It seems to be an excellent place to fish. Have you tried fishing from there yet, [Player]?

The newly available spice mix is a very handy condiment. Grandfather enjoys spicy foods, so I use it often. though adding too much is...unwise.

I tried the new menu item at the seaside cafe. It was very tasty! Having tried that, I had to wonder if seafood pho might also be good. I'm currently testing various recipes. Grandfather is not picky about what he eats, but he does still tend to stay away from root vegetables. I want to make pho he can enjoy.

I hear you and Ludus cooperated to make an outfit. From what I understand, it was supposed to be an ordeal. You must be quite tired now.

The flowers that grow by the shore are called "beach vitex." Tototara says they used to be used to make perfume. She also said that men would "gather like flies" around any who wore that perfume, so it quickly fell out of use.

Grandfather and I live together. Caolila will sometimes come to check on us and see how we're doing. When she does, I usually ask her to teach me how to cook some of the local dishes.

I'll often go and observe Ludus at his work. Ludus is amazing. He can make almost anything. He's crafted Alma's toys and even an entire boat all by himself.

Caolila is trained in the martial arts. Doesn't she seem strong and confident at her shop? She's actually very good. In fact, she can even beat me easily, with one hand tied behind her back.

We have a white cat named Rene at home. She always sleeps on a corner of Grandfather's bed. She seems extremely fond of Grandfather, even though I'm usually the one who feeds her. I wonder if she can tell how trustworthy Grandfather is.

What do I like and dislike? I don't dislike any foods. I'll eat anything put in front of me. Besides, Grandfather says that the more things you like, the richer your life becomes.

Schalk is an excellent tree climber. Sometimes, I'll go climbing with him. It's much more difficult than you'd think. It's good exercise, though. Good dexterity training, as well. I'll sometimes practice it on my own.

Their writing system is so different, however, that I couldn't make heads or tails of it.
