Van (バァン Ban?) is a traveling merchant who comes from Forget-Me-Not-Valley. He will arrive at the player's farmhouse on Wednesday after linking Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town to Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life or linking Harvest Moon: More Friends of Mineral Town to Harvest Moon: Another Wonderful Life.
Van will set up a shop at the end of the hallway on the second floor of Doug's Inn every Wednesday. One of the special items the player can buy from Van is the Record Player. Players can use the Record Player to change the background music whenever they are in their house. The Record Player will be put on the small table located next to the farmhouse door.
After Record Player is bought, Van will also sell various records. Players can receive some records from the Goddess' TV Game Show that airs inside of the Villa House (which is accessible after they have requested Gotz to build it).
Whenever players want to change the background music of their farm, take one of the Records and place it on the Record Player inside. The Record Player has music from past Harvest Moon games, including the SNES game. The player can store records inside their cabinet.
