Wada (ワーダ, Wāda^?) is a character in Harvest Moon DS: Sunshine Islands.

Wada is member of the tribe that adopted Shea when he was young. His tribe is secretly protecting something. He will live with Shea on Mushroom Island until Sunny Island is raised from the ocean floor. While living on Mushroom Island, he does not leave the island and is one of the only characters (besides Witch Princess) who does not attend festivals.

If you marry Shea, Wada will preside over the wedding replacing Nathan.

Wada's Strength

When Shea and Wada have 6 hearts or higher, ride Kirk's boat to Mushroom Island between 4pm and 7pm on a sunny or cloudy day. If less than 15 islands raised, this event is only triggered on Wednesday or Thursday. You must not be married to Shea if you are playing as Chelsea.

While Shea and Wada are fighting, you intervene the fight in fear of Shea's safety, making them annoyed. However, Shea explains they were just practicing. After successfully smack Wada on his head with your hammer, Wada returns to the tent, where he regains consciousness. Shea is sad to see his foster father lose to you, but glad to hear that Wada lost to hunger.

Trivia

• If you have 7 hearts with Wada, he will give you a present if you speak to him on your birthday. There are three different presents available, depending on the year. He will give you either a Grilled Fish (Year 1), a Large Fish (Year 2) or a Medium Fish (Year 3). These gifts will continue in a set rotation every three years.
  • If he gives you Grilled Fish, you can gift it back to him for a major boost of affection (or save it for his birthday in your refrigerator for even more heart points). The same can be done for Shea if Wada gives you a Large Fish.
