Your child is a character in Harvest Moon: DS and Harvest Moon DS: Cute born after marriage. The former only allows the player's child to be a boy. The latter only allows Claire or Pony to have a child of either gender, which is randomly set during the wedding ceremony and will not be revealed until they are born, similar to a pregnancy in real life.

Events

Pregnancy

One month after marriage, as long as your spouse has 60,000 LP, the wife will feel unwell in one morning. The couple will go to Hardy's clinic, where he discovers that she is pregnant.

Childbirth and later stages

In the morning after two months have gone by, the same scene as with pregnancy will play, but Hardy tells that the wife is about to give birth. Once a crying sound is heard, the player will be prompted to name their child. They will grow into two stages: Child and Teenager; each takes two years to complete. Their gift preferences, schedules, and dialogues depend on stage.

Depending on your spouse, your child's appearance will vary. If you choose to marry special and Mineral Town marriage candidates, the child's appearance will be randomized from the following styles. Thus, if you've married Skye in Cute and obtained Griffin's child but wanted Marlin's instead, save the game the day before childbirth to get another chance of getting another appearance.

After your child is born, Barney and Mimi will set a circus tent in the Empty Area. You also will discover Hugh and Kate have grown into teenagers.
