In Harvest Moon: Magical Melody, the player has an option to have a child after marriage, which will happen 20 days later. The female-side of partnership will begin to feel ill so they go to the clinic, where Alex will let them know that the couple are expecting a baby. The pregnancy lasts for two seasons and on the due date, the same scene will play, except the couple will wait a bit for their child to be born. Once the child is born, the player is prompted to give the baby a name. At the Clinic, Woody will also appear and give the player a baby crib.
The player can interact with their child in any way, such as picking them up daily and play with them using the Rattle as well as Picture Book. They will find a heart meter for their child in Villagers summary menu.
Two months after the child is born, they will grow to a toddler stage. Upon visiting the Clinic, they will be able to walk around and go out of their crib as the player wakes up in the morning. This is only other stage of the player's child, and they will not advance beyond it no matter how long the game is progressed. The child's gender is also never revealed.[1]
