Your farm is a largely customizable area is Olive Town. When you start the game, the farm is an overgrown forest with two zones inaccessible, all of the standing structures are dilapidated or rotted, and the player is living in a tent. However, as you progress and gain materials you can upgrade your tent into a home, restore structures to unlock Nigel's option to buy or develop those structures, and craft decorations to build your farm as you want it. Your Farm can be broken down into three areas, each with their own unique resources and existing structures. Each area has limited access to resources of earlier areas, with some not returning in the next area at all. Seasonal resources such as Strawberry and Oregano may only be foraged in one area of the farm during their growing season. Shipping many of these resources will also add them to the inventory of the Grocery Store and General Store, as products and/or seeds where applicable.

Area 1 is the starting area Mayor Victor introduces you to your grandfather's farm, which has a Dilapidated Coop and stray chicken, nine tilled tiles of dirt, the small iron mine, a beach with access to Blood Clams, the Broken Bridge project. This first area is where the player has immediate accesses to basic resources such as Grass, Log, Sap, Stone, Iron Ore, Royal Fern, wild Onion, and Oregano. Area 2 is the first time the player gains access to the Cultivating skill if the Rotted Mushroom Log is repaired, Barn animals if the Dilapidated Barn is repaired, and unique access to essential Cooking ingredients such Oysters, Salt, Pepper, Sugar, and Giant Tiger Shrimp. The medium mine and several bodies of water, including a beach with Oysters may also be found here. The player will now have access to intermediate resources such as Flexible Grass, Solid Log, Silver Ore, and wild Strawberry.

Repairable Structures[]

Except for the Well, dilapidated farm structures must first be restored before they can be purchased and developed from Nigel's Handiworks. Completion of projects such as the Bridge and Rubble, which unlock new areas of your farm, and the third area's mine, may be completed by either providing the listed materials or purchased at a much higher cost than the resources, and will be completed the following day.
